elbee bad is another great underground house pioneer from the formative days of nyc house in the late eighties. the true story of house music finally gets told... tip! like the burrell brothers, elbee bad aka lamont booker, is an early house producer from new york city. and the comparison doesnt stop there. elbee bad has also recorded under different aliases and has also remained largely unknown to a wider audience. he has also recorded for nu groove records, for which he has recorded his most famous material, but like the burrells he wasnt a nu groove fixture. bad recorded for a slew of other independent new york house labels like bassment, city limits, easy street, red heat, united states of america and then there was his own larhon records

almost 25 years have past since his first release, yet >the true story of house music< is the first time elbee bads catalog gets compiled for re-release. although the best and most prolific part of his catalog is his late 80s and early 90s output, booker never stopped producing (and djing). he is currently residing in berlin, from which he still manages his studio and travels throughout europe to dj.
prior to the compilation we release a vinyl only sampler which features two exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of two tracks which are to be found on his only solo nu groove ep, from which we took the title of this compilation.
this is another winner from the true history of house music.

the good the bad the ugly the evil is a full on and brandnew 4 track ep from our cologne artist roland m. dill. roland has worked here with a stronger live-set up resulting in tracks more organic. developing from within rather than being developed, the tracks seem to have a stronger hypnotic edge to them. according to the titels the track all show diffferents characteristic. starting with the evil this track is not very obvious but works very much by itself, whereas the good is a perfect intermezzo for djs who really build up their sets with a lot of skill. the ugly is a mental track... it has stunts, it screams, it sees no end... this is mandness on the highest level and also the bad is written in this veain.

gerd is delivering at the moment! after releases on clone royal oak, philpot, a big re-issue on rejected, great remixes on 4lux and delusions of grandeur its time for him to release on his own 4lux label! a massive chicago influenced track called h.o.u.s.e. featuring the voice of l.b. bad, the prince of dance music. this track was originally penned in 1994 when gerd had elbee over to tour the benelux. the track was released on an obscure limited edition white label only back then, but here a new rework of these old recordings. 2011 sees the track remixed by gerd himself and he takes the tune into rough & uncompromising analogue territory with filthy synth bassline and relentless tr808 action. seriously good track!! jakob korn, arttu and neville watson are on remix duty and deliver some fresh remix that complete this record. recommended!

netto houz are back with an extended and newly mastered version of >bad man speaks<, first released on their album >room 7107<, published on ladomat 2000 in 1998. >the prince of dance< elbee bad explains the difference between house and house music to an oldschool four-four- rhythm running on 113 bpm. the flipside of the 12 inch contains the previously unreleased deep house summer track >knuggles<, which builds on beautiful chords with a live rhodes piano jamming to it. berlin based knuggels recordings, run by dj kriton together with netto houz, is planning further to release new and previously unreleased material by netto houz as well as edits and remixes of their tracks from the 90ties.
